Abstract

The deficiency symptoms of primary nutrients in ber cv Umran was studied under glass house conditions. The N deficiency appeared when leaf N concentration was 1.26% and led to stunted growth, reduction in size and slow growth of leaves. The P deficiency occurred at 0.09% P in leaf, and resulted in slower rate of leaf production without affecting their size, while the older leaves were thick, rough and dark green. The K deficiency occurs at 0.22% K in leaf, the symptoms were yellowing of leaves, tip burn, drying of leaf margin. There was a wide variation in nutrient concentration at which visual symptoms occurred at optimum nutrient concentration.
