Genetic analysis of growth, photosynthesis and productivity attributes in late cauliflower with 9 × 9 diallel cross of F1 and F2 generations revealed preponderance of dominance genetic components for absolute growth rate, relative growth rate, net assimilation rate, leaf size index, curd weight, curd size and total plant weight. Over-dominance for all the characters except maturity was observed. Role of linkage for dominance and over-dominance in F1 was observed for curd weight and total plant weight. Heritability was low for all the characters. Heterosis breeding and reciprocal recurrent selection are recommended to exploit non-additive gene action in cauliflower.
