Abstract

The performance of Patharnakh and Baggugosha cultivars of pear, budded on three rootstocks namely, Kainth, Pear suckers and D-4 were studied. The D-4 emerged as most vigorous rootstock. The scion girth, stock girth, tree height, tree spread and canopy volume were maximum on D-4 followed by Kainth and Pear suckers. Patharnakh produced bigger trees than Baggugosha, and both these cultivars produced almost smooth unions with all the three rootstocks.
