The evaluation work on five cultivars of date-palm, viz., Khadrawi, Medjool, Hillawi, Barhee and Zahidi revealed that cvs. Hilawi and Barhee produced more yield, i.e., 113.7 and 105.8 kg/palm respectively, and also with lowest level of astringency which enabled these cvs. more suitable for raw eating at ‘Doka’ stage. Cultivar Medjool gave more percentage recovery of better quality of chhuharas with more total sugars.
