Significant abscissions were recorded after application of different thinning chemicals. However, maximum abscission was induced after treatment with KI, urea and NAA specially at higher concentrations. Open flower stage was more sensitive to urea than unopened. In remaining treatment, flower bud and flowers were found to be equally sensitive. All the treatments which were effective or caused overthinning had fruit set significantly lower than in control plant. However, none of the chemicals were found promising for enhancing the fruit yield during winter months.
