Abstract

Different treatments showed significant deblossoming in summer and subsequent increase of fruit set in the winter. In winter, the yield/plant was recorded maximum (21.7 kg) with DNOC at 10 ppm as compared to 4.3 kg/plant in control. Treatment with DNOC at 10 ppm, NAA at 100 ppm and 2,4-D at 100 ppm markedly increased the average size, weight of fruit as well as the pulp content. Appreciable improvement in fruit quality was also observed due to different chemical treatments as compared with the fruits obtained from manually deblossomed and control plants.
