Abstract

Foliar application of urea alone or in combination with surfactants and ethyl oleate considerably increased leaf N status of apple. Highest increase in leaf N was observed when urea 0.5 per cent + 0.05 per cent Triton X-100 5 h after 2 percent ethyl oleate treatment. Surfactants increased absorption of urea as compared to urea alone, control and stickwell. P and K content decreased with the foliar application of urea in combination with surfactants and ethyl oleate; whereas Ca and Mg levels were significantly improved. Highest increase was observed when urea 0.5 percent was applied in combination with 0.05 percent Tritron X-100 and 2 percent ethyl oleate.
