Abstract

The total root biomass obtained was maximum in the radius of 120 cm from the trunk upto 60 cm depth in the soil. The root biomass decreased conspicuously beyond 120 cm radial distance and 60 cm vertically in the soil. Of the total biomass of the roots, fibrous roots were maximum followed by thin, medium and thick roots.
