Abstract

An experiment was conducted to study the feasibility of intercropping cabbage with coriander, fenugreek, spinach, beetroot and radish. Cabbage + coriander and cabbage + fenugreek combinations recorded significantly higher equivalent yields as compared to solo cabbage without significantly affecting the curd quality. Cabbage + radish treatment reduced the cabbage equivalent yield by 21.4 percent as compared to solo cabbage. The net returns were recorded maximum with cabbage + fenugreek combination which were closely followed by cabbage + coriander. The land-equivalent ratio was also highest with cabbage + fenugreek treatment (1.50).
