Abstract

Field experiments on French marigold were carried out to ascertain the performance of the crop planted in different months of the year on flowers production. May planting gave significantly maximum plant height, spread, length of flower's stalk but required longer days to flower. September planting proved to be significantly superior in respect of size of flower, number of flowers per plant and yield per hectare alongwith optimum plant growth, flower's stalk length, flower's weight and days to flower. There was no significant difference in flowers yield from December to April planting and also proved to be lower yielders. Maximum flower's yield was recorded in September planting.
