Abstract

Sodium arsenate (0.075 and 0.15%) was sprayed in kinnow to know its role in advancing the maturity of the fruits. Sodium arsenate at 0.15% applied during first week of July was most effective in reducing the acidity in the juice. The titratable acidity in October was two-and-a-half times less than in the control. Total soluble solids were not much affected although showed somewhat higher values. Low acidity in the juice resulted in higher TSS/acid ratio (18.96) in October. TSS/acid ratio at maturity in kinnow during January-February is 12 to 14. So, arsenate can be used for advancing the maturity in kinnow by about two months.
