The experiment was conducted to find out the effect of distinct corm grades on quality of flower spike and corm development in gladiolus Pink Friendship. The large-sized mother corms significantly induced earlier flowering, increased length of spike, number of florets/spike and number of cormels and their corresponding weight/plant compared with medium or small-sized corms. The duration of flowering under field conditions and diameter and weight of individual corm did not significantly influence by distinct corm grades. The optimum corm size was found to be around 5 cm from the quadratic equations solved for quality.
