Abstract

Single and double application of bioextracts were effective in lessening the deterimental effects of water stress on growth and yield characters in bell pepper at critical stage (flower initiation). Bioextracts treatment maintained higher height, growth, number of branches, flowers and fruit yield in stressed plants compared with stress only. Double application of bioextracts was more effective compared with the single application. Bioextracts improved fruit quality by maintaining higher ascorbic acid and capsaicin contents as well as higher acidity and TSS in fruits under stressed condition. Double application was more effective.
