Effect of plant-growth substances and micronutrients on fruit set, fruit drop, fruit retention and cracking of litchi cv. Purbi

The effect of plant growth regulators (2,4-D, GA₃) and micronutrients (zinc, boron) was studied on the fruit set, fruit drop, retention and cracking of litchi. Higher levels of micronutrients (0.8 % zinc and 0.4 % boron) along with 10 ppm 2,4-D and GA₃ showed marked effect on fruit retention. This treatment also helped in reducing fruit drop and cracking of litchi.
