The studies on vegetative propagation of apricot (Prunus armeniaca L.) through grafting in Ladakh indicated high success and bud take per cent with tongue and cleft method of grafting performed on 7 February. Maximum linear growth of the grafted plants was also recorded in these 2 methods performed on the same date. Thus tongue cleft method of grafting performed in first week of February can be recommended for commercial propagation of apricot in Ladakh.
