Abstract

The performance of 9 pomegranate cultivars for vegetative growth, yield and quality characters of fruits were evaluated for their suitability to arid conditions of Rajasthan. Of the 9 cultivars evaluated, Jodhpur Red, P-23 and Basin Seedless were more vigorous than others. However, Jalore Seedless showed its superiority with respect to fruit size, juice content, softness of seeds and quality characters of fruits. Less cracking was an added advantage in Jalore Seedless compared to other cultivars.
