Growth of pruned sukers in banana cv. Harichal were checked by the treatment of 2,4-D and augering + kerosene oil. Among all the treatments, 2% 2,4-D was found most effective for higher bunch weight with a maximum cost: benefit ratio of 1:24.80 followed by 1:24.28 with its 4% concentration. The easily available burnt crude oil with augering can also be used as an effective method with a cost: benefit ratio of 1:14.87.
