One hundred and sixty-seven genotypes/land races of pointed ground (Trichosanthes dioica Roxb.) were evaluated in an augumented block design. Considerable variation was observed among accessions for their characters. The genotypes were grouped into 8 non-overlapping cluster based on non-hierarchical euclidean cluster analysis. Cluster 8 and cluster 5 were the diverse clusters. Considerable variation in cluster means was observed for most of the characters. These observations indicate that there is ample scope of varietal improvement through hybridization and selection in pointed ground. The genotypes which expressed thin and slender stems along with bushy habit were quite early-yielders.
