Abstract

The tuber yield increased significantly with S application. The 80 kg/ha of S proved significantly superior. Phosphorus application to soil also proved beneficial and enhanced tuber yield significantly over the control. There was a consistent increase in potato yield with increasing levels of P. The maximum yield was recorded at 150 kg P2O5/ha. The interaction effect of S and P on yield of tubers was significant. The maximum yield of potato tubers was noted at 80 kg/ha of S with 150 kg/ha of P2O5 treatments. The concentration of N in tubers increased with P and S application. However, S content increased with its application, which was not affected with higher level of P. Phosphorus content increased with its higher levels of P and decreased with higher levels of S application. Thus, N uptake enhanced significantly with addition of P and S.
