Spraying of dormex (hydrogen cyanamide) @ 1,2,3 and 4% and thiourea @ 1 and 2% were done on trees of pear cv. Pathernakh on 25 December, 1990 and 5 January, 1991. Bud burst was advanced by 10 and 10 days by spraying of thiourea and dormex respectively. The time of flowering, full bloom and fruit set was advanced by 10–12 days by dormex and 6 days by thiourea sprayed on 5 January. The spraying done on 5 January was better than done on 25 December.
