Performance of Asian pear varieties under Punjab conditions

Five Asian pear cultivars, viz. YaLi, Shinseiki, Hosui, Nijisseiki and Kosui were evaluated for their flowering and fruiting behaviour, yield and fruit quality characters. Hosui and Nijisseiki have shown promise under Punjab (Ludhiana) conditions on the basis of mid-season maturity, higher yield and better fruit quality.
