In-vitro grown microshoots of Khasi mandarin (C. reticulata) and sweet lime (C. limettioides) were cultured in MS medium supplemented with NAA, paclobutrazol and IBA in 12 treatment combinations to ascertain the best combination for rooting of microshoots. Results revealed that NAA (0.1 mg/l) was best for rooting of microshoots of both the cultivars. However, highest rooting (91.09%) was observed in NAA (0.1 mg/l) + paclobutrazol (1.0 mg/l) but it was at par with NAA (0.1 mg/l). It also hastened the process of root initiation. In sweet lime, only 68.2% rooting was observed without any supplementation, which indicates that “sour mutant” microshoots are difficult to root.
