Abstract

Paclobutrazol at 40 mg a.i./plant significantly reduced length of primary shoot and increased number of primary and secondary shoots per plant and fresh and dry weight of flowers per plant. However, 20 mg paclobutrazol/plant conspicuously reduced plant height and increased number of flowers per plant. It is interesting to note that all the treated plants with paclobutrazol delayed flowering. Various doses of paclobutrazol failed to exert any striking effect on diameter of primary shoot and days taken to bud appearance.
