Abstract

Fruit quality parameters of two banana varieties viz., Neypoovan (AB) and Burrocemsa (ABB) were studied after storing the fruits at 10 and 15°C for upto 15 days. The process of ripening was not much affected and no significant differences were found in the quality components between the fruits stored at 10 and 15°C. The biochemical components of fruits stored and ripened at room temperature (control) and those stored at 10 or 15°C didnot show significant differences. The findings confirmed that Neypoovan and Burrocemsa can be stored at 10°C for 15 days without chilling damage.
