Abstract

The density cum system of planting had significant effect on vegetative growth of Bagugosa pear grown on Pyrus pashia rootstock. The plants under high density showed excessive and vigorous growth, which was effectively controlled by paclobutrazol application (10 ml/tree). Thus, problem of shading and low light penetration in inner canopy of trees in densely planted systems could be effectively controlled by using paclobutrazol.
