Abstract

The nutritional survey of 20 representative orchards was carried out in four kiwifruit growing districts of Himachal Pradesh during two growing seasons (2001 and 2002). Leaf analysis showed deficient to low contents of N contents in some areas. However, P and K were found in low to optimum levels. The other nutrient elements were found in the optimum to high range. Soil analysis values exhibited significant and positive correlation coefficient values for N, K and Ca with their content in the leaf. However, P, Mg, Cu, Zn, Fe and Mn showed positive but non-significant correlations with their value in the leaf. Available soil N was found positively and significantly correlated with yield and fruit size and weight. Soil K and Ca content were also positively related with yield and fruit weight. Leaf N also exhibited positive relationship with yield and fruit size and Zn with fruit yield.
