Abstract

Field experiments were conducted to study the effect of various organic manures on yield and quality parameters of turmeric and their effect on residual soil fertility. The results showed that significantly higher rhizome yield was recorded with the application of FYM @ 18 t/ha which was statistically at par with 10 t/ha poultry manure. Application of various organic sources resulted in 16–103 per cent highe rhlzome yield over control and also improved the quality parameters. Organic manuring not only produced the highest and sustainable crop yields but also improved the soil fertility and productivity.
