Abstract

The experimental results revealed that the fruits treated in combination of curing, coating with neem oil (6.0%), Til oil (4.0%), mustard oil (8.0%), wax (2.5%), carbendazim (1000ppm) and wrapped with stretch cling film retained better performance in respect of physiological loss in weight (PLW), sensory qualities, least rotting per cent, higher juice recovery etc. under ambient conditions. The PLW was significantly less in T6 (curing + 2,4-D 500ppm + carbendazim 1000ppm + wrap.) of IFW fruits (3.28%) followed by T10 (curing + Til oil 4.0% + wrap.) fruits (4.87%) at the end of 12th week of ambient storage. The treatment of T9 (curing + mustard oil 8.0% + film wrapping) decreased the process of colour development even after 12th week of ambient storage. At the end of 12th week, less rotting per cent was observed in treatments T6, T7, T8 and T4 followed by T10 under ambient condition.
