Chlorpropham or CIPC (isopropyl N-(3-chlorophenyl) carbamate) concentration was determined in the peel and flesh of tubers of three processing potato cultivars after aerosol treatment. Higher residue concentration in the peel portion taken from the bud end part of the tuber could be related to the number of eyes present on the tuber surface, and the extent of CIPC entry into the tuber could be related to the number of lenticels. The CIPC residue concentration was 8.7 mg kg−1 fresh mass in the outer 4 mm portion, which included the peel, 0.6 mg kg−1 fresh mass at a depth of 4–8 mm, and 0.2 mg kg−1 fresh mass at a depth of 8–12 mm. The residue concentration in the bud end medulla tissue varied from 7.1 to 33.3% of that in the bud end cortex tissue. However, all the observed residue concentrations were below the maximum residue limit of 10 mg kg−1 fresh mass as prescribed by the European Union. The results revealed that the entry of CIPC particles into the tuber is higher at the bud end and it can move into the tuber up to a depth of 8–12 mm.
