Abstract

The economics of in vitro as well as field grown plant of C. jambhiri rootstock was worked out. The unit cost of one in vitro grown C. jambhiri plantlet obtained from nodal segment explant excised from 8–10 year-old mature tree was estimated to be Rs. 2.54, whereas the estimated production cost of ex vitro seedling was almost double, i.e. Rs. 4.48.
