Abstract

Technological advancement is one of the core features of the twenty first century. Electronic gadgets have made their presence felt in all walks of life. Functions that were previously generally performed by humans have gone in the domain of machines and are being executed by them. This has given rise to the phenomena of automation. Automation is the technology that actively selects data, transforms information, makes decisions, or controls processes. The present paper has focused on various theoretical aspect of trust in order to have a holistic understanding about the role of trust in automation.
