Abstract

Self-concept plays a pivotal role in determining the student's behavior and his achievements. Students having average, good and very good self-concept are always less anxious, well-adjusted and have symptoms of good citizen. But students who have below average self-concept are more anxious and less adjusted to the outside world. The present study enquires into the possibilities of making use of selfconcept in promoting the academic growth of adolescents. 800 students were chosen from different schools of Varanasi division. The descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyse data. It was tound that usually the student of the region have high self-concept but it is not affected by location and stream of the study.
