Abstract

Evolving any urban development plan en masse for a government policy meant to the whole of the country at a time is not a new thing in independent India. Moreover, this plan even if wrapped in a heavy tinge of technology is also not a great thing to wonder in the modern era of technology. That such a huge plan for the urban development is need of the hour also does not make it so wonderful that it becomes talk of the town overnight. Nevertheless, the government project called SCP (Smart City Proposal) has become a burning issue not only all over the country but also all over the world. Of course, there are valid reasons and profound intrinsic values attached to it that warrant such a wide attention and that is the very theme of this paper. Hence, before touching upon the fundamental objectives of this paper it is worth while to explain ‘what makes the SCP unique ’.
