Abstract

This study aimed to explore the instrument/design/form of the Performance Appraisal in higher academic institutions that is assumed to be connected with the satisfaction and performance of academic staff. The study consisted of 504 faculties from various private, public and deemed Universities across India especially Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. The data representation and analysis were done using rigorous analysis with tables and bar graph. The study reveals that relatively higher number of faculty members from Uttar Pradesh was found to be less satisfied with the performance appraisal design in comparison to faculty members from Delhi. It is suggested that improvement is needed in performance evaluation design. Remedial strategies have also been formulated for recommendation.
