Abstract

Employee engagement is a newly emerging concept in the literature of organization behaviour. The study was conducted on 276 managers to examine the role of employee engagement in organizational performance. Along with demographical data schedule, Utrecht work engagement scale and performance rating scale were used for data collection. Obtained data were analysed by using Pearson R analysis and hierarchal regression analysis. The result of coefficient of correlation indicates that different dimensions of employee engagement like vigour, dedication and absorption and overall employee engagement found significant and positively correlated with work performance. The result of hierarchal regression analysis suggest that dedication dimension of employee engagement is a significant predictor of work performance.
