Abstract

The power forms the bedrock of the economic development of any country. It plays a pivotal role in the industry, agriculture, households and transports etc. and therefore, the degree of utilization of power in a country is the measure of its productivity and growth. The Indian economy is heavily reliant on the performance and development of the power sector. Presently, sources of renewable energy are also being advanced in India and solar energy, a distinctive power source, is becoming popular in our country also. Solar power is playing a major role in meeting the energy requirements of the country. This article deals with the future of the power sector and the demand for solar power in India for sustainable development.
