Abstract

Failure to recognize variations in root or root canal anatomy can result in unsuccessful endodontic treatment. Mandibular molars can have an additional root located lingually (the Radix Entomolaris, RE) or buccally (the Radix Paramolaris, RP). The prevalence of Radix Entomolaris in permanent mandibular first molar differs significantly with race and is known to be low in the Indian population. The case reports in the present article focus on the radiographic identification and endodontic management of Radix Entomolaris in permanent mandibular first molars.
