Abstract

Internal resorption is an idiopathic, progressive resorptive process, occurring in the dentin of the pulp chamber or root canals of teeth. Trauma is a major cause of inflammatory internal resorption which if untreated, may perforate the wall of the root laterally. The present case report represents Inflammatory perforating type of internal resorption with large periapical radiolucency and its surgical management using Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA) to repair the resorptive defect internally and externally in an maxillary right central incisor. Follow up upto one year showed resolution of symptoms as well as the periapical and lateral radiolucency with favourable prognosis.
