Abstract

The visual evoked potentials (VEPs) refers to the change in brain activity when we apply intermittent visual stimulus to visual system. Visual evoked potential provide a quantitative measure of the functional integrity of the visual pathway. The present study was done to investigate the effect of Head circumference and gender on visual evoked potentials. The study was conducted in Electro-physiology laboratory of Physiology Department, SGT Medical College Hospital and Research Institute, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences SGT Gurgaon-NCR. In present study, Head circumference was measured by a measuring tape in cm. PRVEP was recorded in one hundred twenty young and healthy volunteers in the age group of 18–25 years. The study demonstrated statistically significant differences in PRVEP parameters among male and female. Present study also shows positive correlation between head circumference and latency and negative correlation between head circum-ference and amplitude.
