Abstract

Eventration is a defect in the muscular portion of the diaphragm which presents as an elevated diaphragm on imaging. Its incidence is reported to be less than 0.05%. It is more common on the right side. It may be partial or complete, and may mimic a lung mass. Partial eventration of diaphragm almost always occurs on the right side with predilection for the anteromedial portion. We describe a case of eventration of right hemidiaphragm (more marked in the posterior portion), mimicking a lung mass. Chest Xray, computed tomography and fluoroscopic imaging were done for confirmation of diagnosis.
