Superficial stains and irregularities of the enamel are generally what prompt patients to seek dental intervention to improve their smile. These stains or defects may be due to hypoplasia, amelogenesis imperfecta, mineralized white spots, or fluorosis, for which enamel microabrasion is primarily indicated. Dental ûuorosis is the appearance of white stains on the enamel of teeth due to excessive amount of fluoride during their formation. It may be mild, moderate or severe, and sometimes, it can also lead to loss of enamel structure. This case report depicts two clinical cases of patients with moderate fluorosis in maxillary central incisors whose smile was re-established by the use of an enamel microabrasion technique, followed by composite restoration in one of the cases. The association of these techniques presented excellent results and the patient was satisûed. These are painless, fast and easy to perform techniques, preserve the dental structure and show excellent results. Clinical significance: The clinical performance of enamel microabrasion is excellent for removing brown stains of dental fluorosis. Even though its performance of improving appearance decreases with the increase in severity of ûuorosis, it does not only remove the ûuorosis stains but also may increase the success of additional subsequent treatment.
