Abstract

Teledentistry is about delivering data from the spoke site to the hub site using telecommunications technology. In today's time where social distancing is the need of the hour during ongoing COVID-19 it can provide the required preventive aspects to be covered using long-distance screening and continuing oral health education. It will not only help in preventing oral diseases but also reduce the exposure from dental professionals to the general population and vice versa mean while keeping intact the goal of good oral health leading to a sound general health. The population at large will be benefitted without the need of stepping out of their homes saving themselves from exposure both in the outside setting and in a dental professional setting. Various aspects like knowledge regarding common oral diseases, home-based oral health solutions and proper nutrition can be touched upon that will ensure the prevention of common oral diseases.
