Pemphigus is a group of chronic autoimmune blistering diseases characterized by the presence of antibodies against desmosomal adhesion proteins. Pemphigus vulgaris is caused by autoantibodies against desmoglein 3 and sometimes desmoglein 1 resulting in mucocutaneous involvement. Rituximab, an anti CD-20 monoclonal antibody has emerged as an effective treatment modality in pemphigus patients. But the use of rituximab in resource poor setting is limited. We hereby present a long term follow up of rituximab in a pemphigus vulgaris patient in a resource poor setting.
