1MPT Student,
Neck pain is very common with increasing age. Incidence rate for cervical spondylosis among patient with neck pain are 60.85% the literature reveals that CS is more often encountered in patients 45 year old and more commonage group is older than 65 years.
Physical therapy in various forms like stretching, neck isometric, manual traction, neural. Mobilization have been proved effective in neck pain with radiculopathy. Hence, the purpose of the study is to compare the effectiveness of manual traction with neck isometric and neural mobilization in improving pain and function as sociated with neck pain with radiculopathy.
Total 30 participants were included. All the participants were divided into 2 groups. Group-A (manual traction and neck isometric exercise), Group-B (manual traction with neck isometric and neural mobilization). The treatment is given for 5 days a week for 4 weeks and post intervention assessed by Neck disability index and Numeric pain rating scale.
Intragroup comparison of NDI and NPRS showed significant improvement in both the groups. Butine intergroup comparison NDI with (p=0.00) and NPRS (p=0.00), Group –B showed significant improvement in improving functional and reduction of pain in neck pain with radiculopathy.
The study concluded that Group-A and Group-B exercises are effective in improving function PRS and reduction of pain, but statistically Group-B was more effective than Group-A.
