This study determined the effects of close kinetic chain exercises on pain at the site of Achilles tendon and in Achille's tendinopathy patients.
Thirty subjects were randomly divided into two Group A (CKC exercises, n=15) and Group B (conventional exercises. (n=15)
The Group A performed CKC exercises (CKC exercises isometric loading, close chain ankle dorsiflexion exercises) and Group B conventional exercises (half squats with both the legs, normal walking, calf muscle stretched by Thera band) both for 30 minutes once in a day for 4 weeks (6 days). Pain (measured by NPRS), ROM {measured by goniometer} and strength (measured by MRC scale) were evaluated pre and post of the intervention.
Significant changes showed in both the groups but group A showed highly significant improvement in pain, ROM, strength as compared to group B.
CKC exercise training is recommended to improve Pain, strength and rom. CKC exercises is recommended to improve Achilles's pain in Achille's tendinopathy patients.
