Musculoskeletal disorders have been described as the most notorious and common causes of severe long-term pain and physical disability that affects millions of people across the world. Physiotherapists are prone to work related musculoskeletal disorders.
To investigate the prevalence of work-related musculoskeletal disorders, amongst physiotherapists in Vadodara.
The subjects were physiotherapist of Vadodara city. 150 Physiotherapist were included in this study, A semi structured questionnaire including the NORDIC musculoskeletal questionnaire was used to collect information about work related musculoskeletal disorders among physiotherapists of Vadodara.
Results showed that there is44.66% prevalence of pain in neck region, 24.66% prevalence of pain in shoulder region, 48% prevalence of pain in upper back region, 10% prevalence of pain in elbow region, 13.3% prevalence of pain in wrist/hand region, 62% prevalence of pain in lower back region, 9.33% prevalence of pain in hip/thigh region, 25.33% prevalence of pain in knee region, 18% prevalence of pain in ankle region.
The study concluded that there is prevalence of work-related musculoskeletal disorders among physiotherapist of Vadodara city.
