During the current pandemic of COVID we discovered patients with COVID-19 are at increased risk of Mucormycosis. Early identification of these high morbid conditions is key to allow for optimal treatment and improved outcomes. Post COVID-19 Mucormycosis, is a disease that is present in person with serious health problems and can result in associated mental health disorders. In this study, we evaluated the prevalence and severity level of depression, anxiety and stress level among post COVID-19 Mucormycosis patients in Gujarat.
This study was conducted to evaluate mental status and prevalence of depression, anxiety and stress level among post COVID Mucormycosis patients in Gujarat.
A data of 47 post-surgical Mucormycosis patients admitted in civil hospital Ahmedabad and L.G hospital Ahmedabad was collected through survey. Their age ranged between 33–70 years of both genders. A DASS-21 scale (Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale-21) was filled by the patients and result was established according to the criteria of DASS-21 scale.
The overall prevalence of depression was 4.25%, anxiety was 65.95% but stress was not found among post COVID Mucormycosis patients.
The study revealed that depression and anxiety was present while stress was not seen among post COVID Mucormycosis patients.
