As the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic rages on, the mental health of both the infected and non-infected is a rising concern while focusing on the management and care of COVID-19 patients, the mental health of these patients and their relatives is being overlooked. The aim of the current study was to measure anxiety and depression, and to assess their association with Fear of COVID-19 in COVID-19 patients or their relatives or their friends.
To find a correlation between physical health and fear of covid-19, and mental health and fear of covid-19.
The data was collected by the Google forms and were shared through social media. There were130 participants, among those one hundred twenty-two participants were selected according to inclusion criteria. Males and females, >18 years of age to assess mental health “Patient reported outcomes measurement information system (PROMIS) global 10” and for fear “Fear of COVID-19 scale” were used, the responses were observed, recorded and analysed.
There is weak negative correlation between physical heath and fear of covid-19. (r=0.357, p=<0.01) There is moderate negative correlation between mental health and fear of covid -19. (r=-0.501, p=0.01).
This study concluded that physical health and mental health is affected in peoples being afraid of COVID-19.
