The aim of this paper is to study acoustic waves in an inhomogeneous ocean assuming high frequency assumption. The commonly considered model of the ocean is with a rigid bottom which is convenient for normal mode analysis. We consider the WKB solution for this model as well as that with a reflecting sea bed satisfying impedance type boundary conditions. The turning point matching is performed for producing a solution valid in the whole domain.
