Abstract

A weighted Pranav distribution which includes one parameter Pranav distribution as a special case has been proposed for modelling lifetime data. Properties including moments and moment-related measures, hazard rate function and mean residual life function have been discussed. The estimation of its parameters has been discussed using maximum likelihood estimation. The goodness of fit of the proposed distribution has been discussed with a real lifetime dataset and the fit has been found satisfactory over several lifetime distributions.
